International Journal of Critical Accounting

We have the honour to announce the appearance of a new journal in the area of critical accounting: International Journal of Critical Accounting (IJCA).

IJCA is a peer-reviewed international journal publishing high quality, original manuscripts concerned with critical accounting and related issues. Contributions can be of a theoretical or empirical nature. IJCA targets scholars from both academia and the professional accounting community. Papers examine emerging trends in critical accounting and fast-changing concerns faced by corporations, government and regulators from a comprehensive range of areas.

Accounting and the New Labor Process

It is our pleasure to announce the scientific event, the Accounting and the New Labor Process, which will take place on the 8th of January 2009, in Birmingham, UK.

The scope is intended to be broad and includes research papers that deal with all aspects of critical accounting and the labor process. Papers that utilize any of a broad range of research methodologies will be considered. Doctoral students are encouraged to attend. A special doctoral workshop will be organized to help them navigate doctoral studies, the writing and publication and processes, and the job market.

Accepted Papers Announcement

The Critical Perspectives on Accounting Journal and the Babes-Bolyai University are pleased to announce the papers selected for presentation within the CPA Research Development Workshop.

The objective of the research workshop is to provide junior faculty and doctoral students with feedback and supportive discussions on their research activities prior to the resulting paper being submitted to a quality journal.

The presentation of selected papers within the workshop will offer the opportunity to debate them, therefore making it possible for professor's Tony Tinker and all participants' opinion to interact in a constructive environment.

The workshop will be held on Friday October 31, in the FSEGA Campus, Babes-Bolyai University.

The following papers authored by doctoral students/junior faculty will be featured.

International Conference Announcement

We are pleased to announce and invite you to attend the 3rd AAC 2008 Annual Conference, which will be held in Cluj Napoca, Romania, organized by Babes-Bolyai University, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration between 30-31st October 2008.

The purpose of the conference is to encourage dialogue across the field of audit and financial reporting in the context of capital markets' globalization. A special emphasis will be given to issues that arise from the globalization of financial reporting standards.
